Annual General Meeting  — MAY 7, 2017

We hold our Annual General Meeting at the Central Lions complex.  The meeting will be highlighted by a panel discussing the topic Medically Assisted Death.  Not the ethics or morality of assisted dying but rather the practical considerations.

Dr. Douglas Faulder, Medical Director Continuing Care Alberta Health Services and the Medical Lead Edmonton Zone Medical Assistance in Dying Care Coordination Team, will be a key member of this team of proponents of end of life issues. Keep the date open as we know this is a topic current in many of our minds. We will be promoting this event as the time draws nearer to our Annual General Meeting and we hope you will encourage your family and friends to join us.

For those registered you will be notified by telephone once arrangements have been finalized.

Thank you 1jpg

We have recently completed a small survey of new members and found the majority of new applications come as a result of family, friends and word of mouth.  Thank you and keep up the good work in promoting our Society.

FUTURE BOARD MEMBERS

On an important final note, we are putting out a call for members to join our Board of Directors.  The Society bylaws stipulate that the board will comprise of nine members.  With the recent resignation of our vice president we have seven appointed board members and we will be losing three of those members when their terms expire this year.  In 2018, the terms of another four members expire and they will leave the board.  The ongoing life of the Society depends upon your support so please consider donating your time and talent to serve as a Board member. Come out and join us at a board meeting; you will find it a very rewarding experience.
