IMPROVING YOUR EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH

Start your year off with tips and techniques to improve your emotional and mental health. The presentation will focus on activities, goal setting and awareness of how our thoughts affect our mental health.
Do you find yourself normally thinking about things that make you happy or those that make you “grit your teeth”? What about good things that have happened each day? Do they balance the negative aspects of the day (rain, a fight, cutting your finger or much worse, depression)?
We all need a little help at times! Not to go so far as to say medical intervention but just a “pick me up thought or act — a helping hand from a friend. Maybe we do need medical help but there are other steps we can take prior to going that far. Find out what they are and have a few laughs and maybe sniffles.
Leslie Pisani (MSW, RSW, DCA) who works with Community Geriatric Psychiatry for Covenant Health will be discussing these things.
